WI No Fuel... No Fun

Hey guys, I have an 87 rx7 that was torn apart by the previous owner (most of it was broke anyways, but it doesnt help the situation any). I mave most of it put bake together but I'm not getting any fuel. I got a fuel pump out of a blazer just to see if it was just the pump or if it is something in the eletrical circuit. That pump wouldnt work... I checked the Circuit Openning Relay and that was good. I'm getting 12.6V to the Sending unit and the grounds are good. Could it just be the sending unit? Thank you for any and all help!

are you getting current to the sending unit for the fuel guage , but not to the pump?
pull the wiring diagram for fuel and use test light/DVM to verify if its a pump or power issue.

How are you making these tests? Remember, unless the fuel pump test coupler is jumped, the pump will only run when the car is running or cranking.

i pulled up the diagram and used my DVOM to test the voltage going to the pump (+ lead to power wirer coming from the Circuit opening relay to ground). I learned most of these tests as a first year auto student at Blackhawk Tech. but now that its my second year... lets just say i need a little refresher course.

Jump the yellow test connector found near the passenger shock tower (often under the airbox) and turn the key to RUN. The pump should now run. If it does, then something is up with the switch in the AFM most likely.

I tried that and it didn't work. So I retested everything and there's no power coming off the blue wire on the Circuit Opening Relay, which is the power wire to the pump. But when I hooked up the pump directly to power, it still didn't work... yay, more money to spend.
