Newbie with boost issue. Please read

Hi guys im new to the forum and have a couple questions regarding boost problems.

First heres a little about my RX:

Interior:
Momo pedals
Momo gearnob/handbrake cover
Momo Steering wheel
Stock bucket seats
Alpine Headunit
Alpine 6disc changer
BOSE full aucostic sound system

Exterior:
17 inch Enkei alloys
Brand new Front discs/pads (needed for MOT pass)
Aftermarket Exhaust system (CAT present)
TEIN SuperStreet Coilovers
Aftermarket Spoiler
Red Calipers
Rear Diffuser

MODS:
Apexi ECU with commander
Apexi Full induction system
BLITZ Boost guage
Air-Fuel ration gauge
HKS turbo timer
Re-Amemiya Intercooler elbow pipe
Fully Samco hosed
All Heat rapped
Sequential BOV
Strut brace
VIPER Alarm system with Satalite Killswitch
Remapped By Hayward Rotary to approx 300 BHP

Now the trouble im having is the car limitts or feels like limits at around 4000-5000rpm. The second turbo wont kick in.

My first question before i start the investigation is......

is the ?air bypass valve? supposed to have a hose missing? Could this cause my boost issue?

See pic below. Thanks

Been told on another forum that this doesnt really need a hose connected to it and wouldnt effect boost?

The reason that's usually connected to something is to contain the noise it makes when it vents.

I suggest you keep looking for things that are out of kilter. Remove each of your intercooler / y-pipe couplers and inspect them for hidden tears or cracks.

How close are you to Berkshire? I was there last spring.

Fd3s - power fc - video included

Right guys, ever simce i bought my twin turbo FD3S ive had the problem that it only revs up to 4-5000 rpm. Ive always put it down to the second turbo not kicking in because of dodgy hoses/solenoids.

Now after browsing through the commander im thinking that the ecu hasnt even been mapped and is just running on a base map

heres a quick video of my browsing through the settings menu. Sorry but you may have to pause it as i had very little memory left

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ra4d3WHohSg

if you cant see, everything seems to be set on zero

if you cant see it very clearly the first bit is on channel 8 on idle.

the igl map and igt map are all set on -25
inj map is all on 050

PIM volt - normal, all rpm is set at 50.0%

injector - everything set on 0

boost - everythings on 0

accelerator injector settings all 0

water temp correction all on 0

and everything lse on 0 or -25

surely this isnt right?

You have enough posts that I'd suggest posting this to the PowerFC forum instead of New User.

It's been a while, but I think DaleClark has an excellent installation how-to in the PFC sticky section, including backing out on the air-bleed screw and setting proper idle with and without electric load etc.

when I first installed my apexi power fc, I had the same issue until I had it mapped. i had a rotary guy locally take the car for a day and tune it. Problem gone.

I have the (fd3s) power fc manual and there are settings on the setup pages, are these ok to put in as a standard map or are demo only?

everything is not right in all the settings and maps, I'm surprised the car even runs. you need to reinitialize it to reset everything.

Start by going to the 3rd gen FAQ thread:
https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generation-specific-1993-2002-16/faq-3rd-gen-other-useful-links-68640/

Scroll down to the T section (for Turbo). You will find a bunch of threads on the turbos and troubleshooting. You will want to read them. Start with this one which will give you procedures for diagnosing the turbo operation:
http://www.autosportracetech.com/RX-...leshooting.htm

The original Apexi map is reasonably good out of the box and will not cause boost issues. Do you know what map is loaded into your Apexi Power FC?

I just merged the two similar threads you have on this topic. Don't open new threads on a similar topic or people will just repeat the same questions as before.
