New IL Based FC3S
Hi Guys & Gals,
Im picking up a used 1987 FC3S Non-Turbo, The guy that ownes it has had it in storage for 12 years and it hasn't run those 12 years. From what I know he said one day it just didn't start so Im thinking he flooded the engine and didn't know how to fix that issue. I checked the vehicle out last weekend and I did find that the engine spun over by hand so im hoping I can salvage this bute. The body is in good condition the only rust I had seen was on the left rear fender 2-3" worth but it wasn't all the way through and then on the sunroof. I have plenty of mods in my mind for the vehicle so I will keep all of you posted once I start the mods. Once I pick the vehicle up I will take pics of how it looks. Keep in mind Im only paying $600.00 for the vehicle.
One mod question I did have was what your suggestions on hub swaps would be since I want to change it to a five lug from a 4 lug set up. Im sure there is already a post on this so I someone has a link Id be happy to take that.
Thanks,
Josh

For $600, it sounds like you're off to a good start. Being a 1stgen guy, I'm releasing this thread so the 2ndgen guru's can weigh in on how to prep the engine before you try and start it after those long 12 years. If you lived down here in Tejas, all the rubber seals and gaskets would be a serious concern.

Thanks for the reply mar3 but it doesnt look like any 2nd gen guys have any input. Well my main concern isnt the engine but I would like to find out what other guys and gals have done for hub swaps to the 5 lug.

***bump to the top*** It may not be your main concern but you do not want to try and just start a 12-year dormant rotary engine. It is not the same as a piston engine in that regards at all. As far as the hub swap, it's been done many times, hit the regular 2dgen tech board and input "5 lug swap" and start reading!
