Any capable mechanic can perform an engine swap, you don't need a rotary mechanic. Swapping a rotary is exactly the same as swapping a piston engine. Note that the word "capable" is a key word here.
Try these guys. They're located in NH. Not cheap, but they know rotarys.

i blew a coolant hose far away from home so i had to take it to the shop they fixed the hose and called me up saying it was ready to go i couldn't come get it that day so i told them i would pick it up tomorrow they called me the next day and said when they had started it that morning it was blowing quite a bit of white smoke and had done a compression test that confirmed that i needed a new engine or rebuild the one i got i can post the numbers for the test if you want might i not have to rebuild it?
lol. That figures, a shop telling you that you need a new motor. Look at it this way, in today's economy, nobody is turning away business. And in some cases, mechanics are like doctors who create their own patients (not all mechanics, of course).

Spend $4.00 and you will most likely be all set (judging by my results and that of several others). Of course, there is a chance that you have warped something if you really overheated it, in which case you will be looking for a replacement engine. But the odds are very good that it is just a coolant seal issue, so the Alumaseal will be the way out of a costly rebuild. Good luck...

i pulled over as soon as i saw it was over heating not even 20 secs after the overheat light came on i was on the side of the road with the car off i cranked the heat in hopes that would cool it down a little but it didn't help because there was a leak in the cooling syetem and coolent was pissing all over the place i called the shop today and they told me they did not do a compression test after all (they told me they had before) the smoke was white but now the cars not running at all what do you think?

The overheat light?! Are you referring to the exhaust overheat light? Because there is no coolant light other then the level warning.
If the shop is indeed as competent as you make them sound, then it may just be flooded.
