Low fluid level will only make the wheel harder and or over heat the pump..nothing but leaks in ALL my nissan's. Check your tierod ends and check for fluid leaks.As trochoid indicated theres lots of good reference on this site to read through..I had to do it to set my car up properly (still not complete) But given ur situation you should have a flame free quick guide no prob
