Need help asap please

Hey guys, I just got my first rx7 yesterday.
It ran great all day yesterday, but then today it will not run right.
It's a 1987 Rx7 13b - stock - 5 speed.
I went out to the car in the morning and it wouldnt even turn over. So I jumped it and it started fine.
It idles around 900 and then when I push the brake, it drops to about 5-600 and slowly goes to around 700, then when i let off it goes to 900 again.
Anyways, I was driving through the neighborhood and pushed in the clutch to stop at a stop sign, when i pushed the clutch in, it just died.
So I tried to start it back up and it wouldnt even turn over.
I sat there for about 5 minutes and tried again and it started fine.
Then I got about a mile down the road, pushed in the clutch and it died again.
And it just repeats this over and over and i dont know what it is.
any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have any mechanical skills? If not, find yourself a mechanic. If so, have your battery and alternator tested.

Yes, but that doesn't sound like your problem. If the alternator isn't putting out enough power, the battery will drain, idle control by the ECU will suffer, and the engine will stall. That would be the first thing to check. If you put a multimeter on the battery posts, with the engine idling, what do you get? Hopefully something around 13.5 to 14.0 volts.

Measure the voltage of the battery itself after the engine has been shut off for a short while (so any added surface charge disperses). A charged battery should read about 12.5 volts.

Have someone press on the brake while idling and pull the electrical connector off of the BAC and see if it makes the idle drop even lower w/o the BAC connected or if there is no change. The BAC is supposed to assist in supporting the idle such that it doesn't drop below 750 rpm when there is load applied to the engine (lights, brakes, power steering,A/C etc). A broken or stuck BAC will affect the cars ability to run at a proper rpm level and cause the car to die out.

Since your car does not even want to turn over at times that would be unrelated to the BAC but more like a wiring/grounding issue. Does this car have the factory alarm or not? Either way, the wiring associated to the starting system could be easily checked to find the culprit. Other issues could be loose wiring related to the Engine fuse box so check all of those connections as well.

Pic in post #4 looks similar to yours and it would be found on the driver side of the throttle body.

If it were the problem it could be cleaned to see if that remedies the stalling situation. If it were beyond repair, there is a parts forum on this site where you could find one for a paltry sum of money.

first thing I thought was the culprit is the I-ACV

the best thing you can do if you have no emissions and you're cheap is to make block-off plates for everything, I-ACV, BAC, EGR, the whole shabang and then adjust the TPS and idle.

good to hear and I'm serious about the block-off plates. I had them on after ripping out all the emission stuff, and running a straight RB exhaust (header to mufflers) felt like the car was on steroids.
