Sounds like it Blew on ya..Without having more info one can only assume the worst.
You need a Compression test.

I second that, some get lucky as my brother did and only have one apex seal in one rotor give but have enough power from the second rotor to limp it home. The reason your voltage in the battery is dropping is the constant attempt to start and no source to recharge the battery after every failed attempt. So tow and rebuild or drop in new motor.

That same exact scenario happened to me and my friend but as we were pulling out of a gas station, I guess he were pretty lucky he didn't have to tow it, but his motor still blew. =|

Could easily be a failed ignitor. Very common. Check for spark on the leadings.

A push start with another vehicle will always start a low compression engine.

Check your spark plugs, see if they spark. Also, check the distributor cap and make sure it is securely mounted and in good shape.

i second the ignitor theory, ive had one die on me before, ON my way to an rx7 meet, at the same time my FPR took a crap on me. so WAY to much fuel and no spark at all. was coming up to a red light and downshifted to 2nd and coasted to the light it started to jerk and backfire, i got on the gas and it fell on its face. pushed it, buddy came in his 79, knew what it was but didnt have spare ignitor. towed it home, and rode with him to the meet in disgust.

For an update i literally just got back inside to post this i was attempting to charge the battery even tho the voltage is high enough when ever i attempt to turn over it is still doing that draining thing, i got the car home two days ago i was towed by a buddy in a pick up truck. the hazards wouldnt even stay on. i leave the battery unplugged due to the lights stay on even in the off position. and can someone send me pics of where the distributor cap is please. Note i dont mind getting messy im 20 with some knowlege of cars but not rotories much. I just know the basic of rotary engines. i have friends i can get tools from

Well since it is an Fb and it sounds like its carbureted I'd assume it's a 12a. The distributor is located front drivers side if I remember right. As for your lights staying on in the off position...sounds like a relay problem or a short bypassing the fuse. Something to that affect. I'd start with the fuse box and move to the relay.

Well test it to see if it's good. Pull a spark plug out and turn the car over. Or use a volt/ohm meter. That is if the reasoning it doesn't start is that. Bit it prolly won't solve your headlight problem.

car isnt gna turn over even though i charged it up yesterday. the headlights isnt the issue its the taillights and the side lights including the gauge cluster that remains lighten up. but most of the time before the whole issue i just unplugged the battery
