My noob engine question
I own an 86 rx7 shell completely stock. I picked up the 13b engine/transmission this weekend, turns out its S5 and not S4. I didnt think it's a big deal, would there be any wiring problems? I've read that the engine fits fine with the S4 chassis. Any info on what may positively or negatively affect me advancing my project would be much appreciated.

You said you had a shell. What about ecu, harnesses, manifolds? if all this was available to you, you might be able to get away with using what you have, but basically 90 percent of the wiring and electrics are different between S4 and S5.

I bought the s4 shell then the engine and transmission separately. I have the s5 engine, tranny, manifolds, ecu, but not the harness. I can get an s5 harness to go with everything.

You missed what I'm saying. There is no harness to "go with everything". There are 3 different harnesses 1 under the dash and 2 in the engine bay (I think... my car has none of that anymore). They plug into each other and into the ECU. That is why I asked specifically what came with your shell.
If you are dead set on getting this to work, give it a shot, but don't say we didn't warn you.

Ok I wasnt aware of that, this is my first attempt at building an rx7 so your advice is definitely appreciated. This seems like it will be a great learning experience.
