My first Rota, Confused about my cars year?
I recently bought my first rx7 and first rotary ever,
For years I wanted to get into the elite club of owning a rota and finally got the chance when i moved to australia.
Car was advertised as a 1990 convertible.
I bought it as is to fix up and have just registered it and the QLD government is saying its a 1985 model on the reg.
Its the FC shape as it does not look like the series 3 and it has the bonnet scoop that the late 80s models have.
I Have had 1 mechanic say its a 85 with a 86 motor as it does not have the abs.
But I have looked online and wiki and other sites say the convertible was first made in 1988.
I Am getting confused and cannot find any 85 or 86 convertibles like this so im wondering if the government has got the paper work wrong.
There are other things i want to learn about them also as well as more mods and parts i want to do but first thing first i need to clear this up for my heads sake
Ty if you read this far and any help advice welcome

Top Down, Boost Up
iTrader: (7)
Convertibles began production for the '88 model year. That is very clearly a 2nd gen, and appearance wise it is an S5 ('89-'91).
