This happens more often when the car hasnt been running for a long time. The harder I push on the accelerator, the more likely it is to happen. It seems to only happen when I am taking off from a dead stop such as a stop sign or traffic light. It makes it dangerous to drive though when turning left at a traffic light with on coming traffic. if it dies then, I am a sitting duck lol. My dad (who helped me switch engines in my 7) seems to think I need a new carburetor. any help would be appreciated. thanks

 

Start by changing the fuel filter. If that doesn't fix the problem, then it's probably time to rebuild the carb.
