muffler(s)
my 88 fc13b n/a has had an exhaust sys put on it before i bought it. sraight pipe to y-pipe to 2 bomz mufflers. my question is - is that ok. no cat???? and ive read from posts on here about the high exhaust temps. i know that that packing is blown out of both tips so it is straight piped pretty much wich i dont reall think is good.
what would be a great fix or my best option for this?? want to fix this before the new motor goes in.

yea i live in the great smog test free state of florida so not worried about thta just wondering how important back pressure was to the engine. dont really want the loud obnoxious sound of being straight piped either
Eventually, you'll want to replace them with better mufflers. Something with a straight through design rather than fiberglass packed which will eventually melt. Unless you like driving a really loud car.
Something like the borla x1r or one of the Magnaflows. Or just get a cat back from Racing Beat or some other company that makes them specifically for the NA FC.
