Motor Removal, with or with out the Trans? In the next couple of weeks I want to pull the motor out of my FD, is it better to pull it with the Trans attached or with out.
Thank you in advanced,

You will get conflicting responses to this question. Everyone has their own way of removing the engine and their method is the "best way". Look into the specific procedures for doing it both ways and make up your own mind.
IMO, if you don't plan to do anything to the tranny during the engine work, pull just the engine. If, however, you want to work on say the shifter return spring, or a leaking extension housing, then it would be smart to get the tranny out of the car while you're at it.

ive done both and each has a benefit and draw back.
I just pulled mine without the trans and its easy to mess up the pilot bearing, it feels fragile. it puts alot of pressure on it even when things are all lined up.
If you pull both, its a longer package obviously. its easier to remove the radiator and everthing so you dont come too far forward and bend fins or worse.

Lining up the engine with the transmission is a little Tedious.especially if you are by yourself.
I Pulled the engine and transmission by Myself, making things easy.
If you have the trans IN and the engine is OUT .. and Going Back IN,then that is where you are gonna have a small problem.

I really don't have a need to pull the trans, sounds like pros and cons either way. I just thought their might be an overwhelming response one way, I never pulled a rotary.
Thanks.
Thanks.

The engine I helped pull we ended up taking the trans out with it.
I started out trying to separate it but the trans-engine block bolts got stubborn and loosening them outside of the car turned out to be much easier.
