misfire under boost

Hello again everybody. I have anothet problem with my fd.... I went for a drive last night, she was fine, ran beautifully all night, I came home and parked her. Then today I started up the car and let her warm up for a while, started driving her real easy down the road, web she was fully warmed up I gave her a little gas, and right at 4k when my turbo spools she started estimating real bad, i tried again and same thing, no detionation while under vacuum though. I turned around to go home and park her, then she started to get really hot, the needle on the temp gauge was about 3/4 up the gauge, when I stopped the car and turned it off I heard a pinging under the hood. Turns out the AST, an aluminium aftermarket one had broke the weld holding it onto the piping and had fallen down into the fan. The fans weren't on, but the ast was making a loud pinging still when I pulled it out. Could that have caused a coolant problem? There was no leaks but it was upside down. Also could a cooling problem cause a misfire? I just had it tuned, new plugs, new thermostat less than 400 miles ago, lots of mods, but haven't had any problems with it till tissue random issue. Any ideas?

Turned out to be the gas. Filled her up with 91 (highest we have here) and she took off like a champ.
