yeah... the 89 GTU I bought back in september was previously a drift car and has a welded diff in it. Driving this thing around is so annoying at times. Sometimes going around a mellow curve I hear what I think is the chasis squeeking. Nope thats the rear tires chirping. Whenever I get gas I end up doing a slow U turn in the gas station parking lot and it feels pretty jerky.

Keep in mind that Torsen makes several different versions of their torque-biasing differentials. The T2 has a 2.5:1 torque bias ratio, whereas a T2-R is 4.0:1. A T2-R might have too much bias for a lightweight, street-driven car. That said, I ran a T2-R in my Mustang and absolutely loved it. Unless something is broken, Torsens are very progressive and predictable. They're generally quiet, too, if the correct lube is used.
Edit: Also, some versions of the T2-R use internal friction clutches to "bias" the differential. Even with one wheel on ice, or in the air, the differential will send torque to the other wheel.
