Lower Intake Manifold Gasket possible leaking

Hi I have 1988 RX7 convertible the car would not keep idle. would rev to 3,000 RPM then die. I had the car smoke tested and they said it was the intake gasket. I bought the lower intake and middle gasket. changed the middle gasket that goes on top of lower intake. Started her up then it died. I got out and look at the lower intake manifold it is leaking gas I think that is where it is coming from. Do you guys think that it is just the lower gasket or something else?

The lower intake gasket can leak, but it's not a normal failure.

Did you plug in the AFM? If it is unplugged, the car will start, rev up, and then die.
