Low voltage and idiot lights come on and off sometimes
Hey guys...new to the forum...new to the rx7 too but i'm trying to learn quick! Anyways...i just got an 86 gxl about a week ago...been great! The add coolant buzzer came on the other day and scared me to death lol but it is full of coolant...another thing it just started yesterday...all the idiot lights come on for a few seconds while i'm driving then they go off...sometimes all of them stay on for a long time sometimes it's just real quick....tonight i noticed my voltage would drop way low and then bounce back up and the lights would go off...now the lights are off but the voltage is still really low...my lights are dim...inside and out...whats goin on? do i have a short somewhere or is that wonderful little voltage regulator that HAS to be internal going bad?
Oh btw i work at autozone so if there is anyone in albany ga that needs parts i got the hook up! well for the most part...unless we gotta order it from vdp then i cant get it :/ which happens to be most parts....anyways thanks in advance for all the help!

Air in the cooling system can cause the buzzer to go off. Bleed the system and see if it goes away. You can also check the wiring to the coolant level sender on top of the radiator.
If all of the warning lights come on, there is a problem with the alternator's voltage regulator or the belt is loose. You're probably going to need to replace the alt.

The belt looks a little loose...i'm definately gonna try that first...if i rev it up the buzzer goes off then a few seconds later it comes on....hasnt done it in about 2 days so thats good...i hope it's not the alternator i'm broke!
