Loss of Power Steering
Hey all, I just wanted to introduce myself before I start with my problems (lol)
My name is Bryan, I am currently active duty Coast Guard member. I am from Southern California. I got stationed up here in Seattle December of 2011, so I am almost at my 1 year mark. I drive a 1987 Mazda Rx7 Turbo II. Love it. It is faster than my '99 Honda Prelude, also is faster and slides better than my '89 240sx coupe. I love this car (first rotary), but I am obviously new to this area and this car scene and this type of mechanics etc. So I am hoping to make new friends of this car scene. Ok, enough of me, now to my problems.
The car has shitty wiring throughout the car so I would like to see if and how much it would cost to re-do, or "fix" the wiring. Basically the guy before me tried to strip everything out he didn't need and did a half *** hack job with butt connectors, leaving everything cut, hanging around so it looks terrible.
Second, while I am driving I lose all power steering ability about 5-10 minutes after I turn the car on with an annoying beep that happens. This recently started after I got into a small rear ending accident (I rear ended them).
Pretty much, I want this car to run as good as it can for its age, look nice with a presentable appearance, and still be able to slide when I want it to.
Any and all feedback is welcome. Please help me out with this new car scene that I need to become a part of. Thank you all.

Haha to the previous owner comment I got a killer deal on this car though (traded for the 89 240sx with a blown motor for a perfectly running rx7) he said he wanted a "drift car" I laughed and said here are the keys, and I have no speedo function at all
