Lapping "Irons" Question
I'm in the process of rebuilding my motor for the first time. I'm using J.H.B Cermet-X rotor housings with 3mm ceramic apex seals. 2 of my irons need lapped. I was thinking of sending them to MazdaTrix for Lapping and trying the WPC treatment. Any suggestions or opinions would be greatly appreciated.

I'm far from knowledgeable on these treatments and coatings, but from what I have read they are very hit or miss. As such, I would not use any on any of my engines.
Why are you running ceramic apex seals? You are probably aware but they are VERY expensive and generally overkill for street use.

Why ceramic? Well Marc at J.H.B gave me a hell of a deal on the combo. Plus I plan on going to a single turbo so I'm trying to build a strong reliable motor. So what would you suggest for the irons? I understand that once I lapp I will remove the nitriding. Isn't that a bad thing? Has anyone ran a lapped plate without any hardening process done to it?
Those trick parts and finishes may help, but to build a really reliable motor you should add water and/or methanol injection.
That's the key to making these engines last under big power.
