hey man i have talk to several people about the vacuum lines an they all have said the same thing ..... REPLACE THEM WITH BETTER ONES!!!! If you are increasing your horse power then get the steel braded lines are at least some after market lines from auto zone are some where. As far as replacing them i know that there are several threads showing the diagrams with the lines an what each one is. so I would do a search for them..

Hope that helped a lil bit if there is anything else i can do let me know.
I will help if i can

there are no actual vacuums just alot of vacuum solonoids under the intake manifold. And it depends on what your putting on your car to get more power. Go to the 3rd generation specific archive and go into the tech manual directory. There you can find a vacuum line diagram. I assume you would want to use the stock diagram. The simplified diagrams shows the removal of all the vac lines required to pass emisions. They are not needed to run the motor only to pass emissions. But don't go ripping out vacuums lines unless your an experianced mechanic and you must have the proper "block off plates" from bonzai. Any way... the vac line diagrams shows what and where the vac lines connect to. Vacuum lines should be replaced more often than alotta people think. Alot of old broken vacuum lines hinder boost psi, And overall hp output. I'm pretty new to rx7s but I just got done installing a greddy front mount intercooler, trust dual intakes, and a air pump removal conversion. None of these mods require vac lines. And while the intakes and air pump was off it exposed several broken vac lines on the turbos. Easy access to fix. Plus now I know what size hose I need to repair any problem, and where the problem areas are.

There are many things that need to be done when you up the power in an FD, but changing vacuum hoses is not one of them.

The vacuum hoses are more of a reliability issue that applies to all FDs.

Read the FAQs and take your time. There are many things to observe when modding an FD.

I copied them from the FAQ, so I didn't know that they did not work. I did save a copy of the hose test, it's a really intresting read. It was too big to attach, but I managed to figure how to shrink it. The quality wasn't hurt too bad, but if anyone would like the original, send me your email.
