Key hole light blinks when off

So I got my FD running and driving, and realized whenever it's off the driver's side keyhole light blinks constantly unless the car is started. When is this supposed to light up? I wanted to think it's normal, but I'm also trying to solve the problem of my battery being drained after slow charging all day.

It should light up when the driver or passenger door handle is pulled and will remain on if either door is open. When all doors are closed it should turn off after about 20 seconds. I've never seen it blink under any condition.

Its definitely not normal. You may want to take the plastic column surround off and see if an aftermarket alarm system had been wired in at some point. If so, whoever did it may have used that particular light as the indicator light for the system.

Thanks there is definitely something extra on there lol.. and i think it is related or is the culprit to the battery drain.
