JDM FD brake calipers

Mazda Motorsports has announced it can now get many parts from JDM vehicles that previously were unavailable. I am interested in the four piston calipers that they can access, but they have no idea of how their weight compares to the stock calipers.

Does anyone have information on the comparative weights of the two calipers form experience?

All fd calipers are 4 piston. What are you talking about?

I have heard, but have not been able to confirm that the newer, Japanese market only calipers were lighter, but MM could not verify. Do You have any helpful information or a source?

Are you talking about the larger "17-inch, RZ/RS/Spirit-R/SP" calipers? in that case mine weighs in at 3.2kg

Unfortunately I do not have the stock "16-inch" calipers to compare. However I'm pretty sure the larger caliper is also a bit heavier

Exactly! Thanks, that is just what I was looking for. I can use my 16" for comparison. You wouldn't, by chance, know the weight of the rotor when new?

It sounds like an aftermarket BBK will be better overall to decrease weight and increase stopping power, from these figures, for my solo car then.
