VA Introduction

Mike C. here in Newport News VA.

I am working to resolve a driveability issue with my recently rebuilt 1986 RX7.

It has a new Atkins Rotary core with Stage 2 porting and polishing but (apparently) the removal of some emmissions related parts during reassembly has caused a bad stumble on acceleration.

Oh it starts easily and purrs on idle but anything more than a crawl away from a stop results in a miss which can only be avoided by backing off the gas.

I am here to learn how to make the control module happy (missing inputs?) and see if that get's my car driving like it should.

Thanks in advance for any consideration given to my posts. If I can contribute to yours you can count on me!

Does the car rev properly in neutral? Have you tried to to set the TPS? Is this an automatic transmission you have?

Also, have you checked the timing with a timing light? Check for vacuum leaks by spraying carb cleaner anywhere you supect a leak. Intake tubing connections and flanges are the usual culprits.
