injector harness

to keep it short and sweet...

am i able to take JUST the harness off of an 87 n/a and use it on an s5 TII?
I'm only using the two wires (spliced in) and the plug onto the injector.

Also, what's the best way to tell what harness goes on what injector? I didn't think to label them when i started taking things apart :[

thank you!

If by harness you mean the injector pig-tails, then yes you can cut them off and splice them into the S5 emissions harness. If you mean the entire harness, no, it will not just drop in.

The wire colors at the ECU are shown in the FSM wiring diagrams. The colors are the same for all FCs, so it'll be the same for an S4 or S5 and an NA or a turbo. It's going to be LG, LG/W, LG/B, LG/R.

Also, you can't use an S4 injector clip on an S5 injector. You'll still need to re-use the S5 clip.

S5 injectors use oval plugs, and S4 injectors use rectangular plugs.

Not without hacking the plugs to pieces. It'll be like trying to stick the round peg in the square hole. It's a no-go. You can use the wires (or just run some new ones), but you can't use the injector clips unless you pick up some high impedance S4 TII 550cc injectors.

Also, ghetto rigging injectors is not a great idea anyway. If a plug comes off under boost, the engine will nuke itself.

i'm still using the s5 tII injector. the injector wire clip got messed up so i just cut off the one from the 87 n/a and just spliced the wires

does that make it any safer or am i still s.o.l.
