i need a trani

i have a 88tt and i resonantly fucked my transmission i was cruzing in 3 down the highway shifted to 4th about 6000 but the gears grinned (i think i must of went to revers not 4th) and so i quickly put back in neutral then tried to go to 5th but i couldnt get it to go. i tried a little more then just put it in 4th. 1st 2nd 3rd and 4th gear work fine no noises no roughness nothing but i cant get it in 5th or revers. it doesnt grind or anything its just wont go in. i have been looking for for a new transmission but can mostly only find fd or 89-91 tramsmission, i was wondering if anyone knew if the 89-91 would fit or if anyone near new Brunswick Canada has the right one in good working order.

Im gonna let this one slide, but if you actually are wanting to purchase a transmission please post a WTB thread in the classifieds section. There are threads on trans problems associated with not going into 5th gear. Some sort of spring or something, I cant remember but if you read through the FC section there was a recent thread involving what may be your problem.

i do remember reading somewhere that all the rotary transmissions bolt up to any rotary made by mazda. i think... but as for that 89-91 tranny will bolt up. you just need to match flywheel clutch starter and all that to the tranny.. right guys?

Keep the flywheel from your engine. You dont want to swap different engine series or flywheels as they are weighted to balance the specific engine it was built for (86-88, 89-91). If you mix/match engines and flywheels the weight will be wrong and you will destroy your engine in no time.
