I Need Some wiring help/vacuum tubes

I am putting in a 13b TT in my 70' bug. I have the engine to ecu harness. I need to know what the bare minimum wiring setup and i also need some help with ideas on plumbing the vacuum tubes to get the engine to run. Anybody have any easy schematics, possiby a race setup? Any help at all would be helpful. Thanks.

Depending on what you are gonna do, you can remove a lot. You can run sequentials, non-seq, go with a single. Most simple to do would be the non-seq if you are keeping the twins. Both turbos will come online at the same time with this set up, albit at a little higher rpm.

Do you have the block off plates for the stuff you wont need? You can get em from Banzi if you dont. For the wiring harness, you just need to strip the stuff you would be cutting out. Ive seen a few guys with stripped down wiring harness for sale that looked really good. Maybe search the site a little.

I wish I could find the thread with the picture of the wiring harness laid out with all the connectors labled. It was a really good diagram of what went to what. Search around and see if you can find it.

Thanks for the tips. I looked into the bansai parts. The car has no emissions in Washington since it is a 1970, what i need, is to be able to run the car on the street successfully. Making the twins a single, what exactly would it do to driveability and smoothness? This is not an all out horsepower, it is still a street vehicle. So i wanted it to be a smooth street vehicle. The ecu is my problem now, i guess i need to make it a standalone unit if possible, since it only needs to run the engine only. I havent found any wiring or pictures that would assist me with this. I am looking to just add power to the ecu and go with minimal hookups. I can eliminate everything that's not necessary. Anyone have any ideas? The engine just needs to run, i can make the car do the rest. Thanks everyone.

Is the engine a 3rd gen tt? If so, it will have all the emission equipment on it (such as the AWS, air pump, EGR, OMP), unless you got an engine with the everything already blocked off. You have to block off the emission parts on the engine, you cant just disconnect them.

You cant just make the twins into a single. If you are going to keep the stock twins, you can either run seq or non-seq. Going single would invole buying a new turbo, and swaping it out with the twins. If I were you, I would stay with the twins. If you go single you will need an upgraded fuel system, such as bigger injectors.

As far as going seq vs. non-seq, i cant really say which would be more suitable for you. My car is seq, the turbos come online at around 2500-3000 rpm, full boost by 3500, then the transistion of the second turbo coming online at about 5500.

With a non-seq, both turbos will boost at the same time, about 3500 rpm or so, with no transistion. Some people like the seq, others like not having that hesitation and prefer non-seq.

Here is a link to the Factory Service Manuals for a 3rd gen with a wiring manual.

I found the thread with the picture of the harness labled!

For a stand alone ECU, look at an Apexi Power FC. Lots of support, and easy to tune, relatively cheap.

Hope this helps,
Jeff
