NV i need help with my 12a

im new to the rotary engine scene although i have built many different conventional engines in the past. i was drawn to the light weight high revving rotary powered rx7's
i am rebuilding the entire car 1985 rx7 gs
it has the stock 12a engine that was rebuilt by atkins and has just under 40 000 on the clock
i have bought a brand new rb intake for it as well as the pacesetter headers
i have many questions that i hope can be answered by someone out there

first: i have read on this site about the 500cfm edelbrock being ideal for these as they are cheap and readily available
how about hooking up the metering lines to the carb? is that possible or should i just run it on mixed gas
what about the vaccume lines from the distributor? hook them up to the carb?

second : i have removed the stock oil cooler and bought the block off plate and a universal remote oil filter and a huge oil cooler. i know on the older engines the oil lines came from the bottom of the block one in front and one in the rear but i can not find out which is which. what one is in and what one is out( i dont want to hook up my filtering/ cooling system backwards

Third: i have a nos kit for an edelbrock carb laying around and was wondering how well these rotarys take nitrous?

fourth: msd ignition set up? do you need 2 6al boxes to run this engine? i want an msd if im gonna run the nos because of the high speed retard so that i dont detonate the engine when i hit the button.

this is just the start of questions i have about this car. im sure i will run into many more difficulties that i will need some insight with

thanks for your help

In my opinion, this is a much better carb option: http://sterlingmetalworks.com/the_sterling_nikki.htm

Not sure about NOS, I've never messed with it. Same for the MSD. But I'm sure someone will be along shortly to advise you on that. Maybe in the mean time, have a good look around the 1st Gen section. Most of this stuff has been documented several times over the years.

Best of luck with your build...
