i got a trade offer today. whats your input?

ok. ive got an 86 fc rx7. 13b w/ 63k miles on it. minor bridgport, 2.5" exhaust, intake, walbro 255 fuel pump, tomei fuel pressure regualtor, exedy stage 2 clutch, fidanza 8lb flywheel, turbo ii hood, and a couple interior goodies. heres what i got an offer for.

2006 Mazda RX8, 11k on brand new mazda installed 13b renesis. exedy stage 2 clutch, all stock other than that. factory wheels, 6 speed, no tcs, lsd, only damage on it it a cracked taillight, and a small 6" crack on the bumper thats been "drift-stitched" together. its got a black hood and the black follows down the bumper to the top of the front valance.

i know its a 20 year newer than than what ive got right now. but first and foremost i dont know a whole lot about rotaries as it is, im still learning about em. ive heard that the 04 rx8's had ALOT of issues, but ive looked at a few reviews of the 06's and theyve been nothing but good. ill post pics later but i was wondering what you guys though

Definitely a good trade. If you have an n/a it's 3K at most. Turbo fc is 4-5k. An '06 RX8 with small damge is at LEAST 8k for that car. So even if you bought it, didn't like it and wanted to trade or sell it it'll be a good call. The '04s had a lot of ECU issues if I'm not mistaken; I haven't seen very many '06 with anything wrong. The only RX8 I've had come into the shop was for an alternator. I say if you like it then go for it.

so after reading this i went a talked to the guy and he pretty much lied to me the first time i talked to him. he said he owned it. i talked to him last night and he was all like, ok, we'll go to the bank tomorrow and talk to them about getting it financed in your name. i was confused as hell at this point. then....(which is a pretty big thing to not mention before......) that the still owed 14,500 on it................................. so i told him to go f#C|< off lol

Sadly, if it seems too good to be true it probably is. I have a co-worker who has a dsm and was offered a 2010 VW GTI in trade. Wasn't till he was about to meet him the guy was like, oh and I want $11k on top of your car, cash. Who does that?

the ignition coils were mounted on the top of the engine and when they got hot, over time the connections would melt and ground out and ruin the coil packs. pretty stupid in my opinion and all the active suspension stuff was trash as well, but thats only with the s or touring models from what im told other than that an 04 is cheap and a good car.

buy a base and move the cils from the factory location, or install a heat shield and call it a day, they can be had for about 4-8k. depending on condition. how the hell does he have a 2004 and owe 14k? he GOT BONED!!! lollllll the car isnt worth a third of that, keep the FC

A buddy of mine was going to trade me his FC vert that runs and needs a top plus a parts car for my 94 530i. Went over to his house with a battery and he changed his mind when it fired up in 10 seconds after not being run in about 2 years. I was bummed, but I really didn't have any room for two more cars anyway.

Sometimes things work out for the best.

yea...and its an 06, but even then 14k is alot. i think what happened was when he blew the first motor he got it replaced and they tacked the fees of the new motor onto his existing loan
