Exclamation i got 2 questions about the OMP AND MPG -_-

OK WELL i got a 90 vert wit a 91 13b wit about 55k miles on it. i filled her up wit about 45 bucks T..T and thought it would last a good two weeks. ARN'T OUR CARS SUPPOSED TO GET 15-18 CITY and 23-27 HUGHWAY(so like 22-24 comb')that was 4 days ago and it seems im only getting about 12.5MPG W. T. F? even today i was on the highway CRUISING not flooring it takeing it easy and my gauge shot down...has any1 else expierenced this and well this leads me to my next question...

I KNOW this mpg is wrong so i checked the codes and 20/27 came out the OMP and omp sensor. would the oil metering pump malfunctioning cause my mpg to be so low? i don't have that much of a lead foot and if i got a leak i cant find it nor is it leaving any puddles, and im not smelling and gasoline... i need help T..T

There are a lot of reason's for poor fuel economy. If you have not done so in a while, change your spark plugs, spark plug wires, inflate your tires, and new air filter. Basically do a tune up, this can be a huge source of poor fuel economy.

If you suspect a faulty omp, DO NOT IGNORE IT. Doing so can result in a blown engine.

Not to mention the car will go into limp mode & have NO power. A new OMP and ECU are in line.

Yeah, a failed metering oil pump will put the car into limp mode. It will default to safe timing and fuel values, and basically drive like a Metro on one cylinder. This could be most of your problem.

Additionally, a FULL AND COMPLETE tuneup is the first step when looking at a mileage problem.
