Unhappy I am dumb and can't read my ECU codes on an FC3S (after reading tutorial... )

I'm a moron

Anyway, my check engine light comes on after I've been driving for a little while (like a mile or two), and it has no correlation to how Im driving or anything. I suspect its the TB/TPS, but I need codes to back it up. Since the light comes off when I turn the car off and doesn't reappear when I switch the car on, I suspect I won't be able to read the codes... right?

Anyway, that aside, can someone run me through how to get the car to spit out the codes? Like what to plug in where and such? I have a site that shows what the blinks and such mean, I just can't make it... blink.

Thanks!

What guide did you read? This one explains how to pull the codes: http://www.johnr.com/cpucodes.html.

in order to make it blink you have to connect a little Green connector right next to your driver side Headlight/near the battery... u need to hook that up to your battery and it will blink the codes once you turn your ignition key, no need to start the car.....(just strip some speaker wire and connect it to the green single connector not the one with Mulitple connections...)
