There are some calculators on the net like this one: http://robrobinette.com/et.htm. Seems about 300 whp could do it with a car that light.

+1 ^ but 400-450rwhp should def do it. But are you doing any thing about the suspention? Just because you have slicks doesnt mean your car will hook up and launch well..

If it is going to be just a drag car i say get some shocks and springs that are gunna let you sqwat and go. Maybe some trac bars? Honestly i dont even know if they make thos off the self but im sure with a little time and effort you could fab some up yourself. Or get someone to do it for you.

450-500 whp range should be sufficient to run 11.5 or less in a 2800lb car with slicks pending you hook nicely and don't have any hiccups down the 1/4 mile.

I was running 10.4's in my FD with 519 rwhp on 295 wide KDW2's, setup on Tein Flex Coilovers. My car weighed about 2,900 lbs with me in it. Good luck with your build
