How to prime oil system.

I'm going to attempt starting a 90 Turbo II FC, that hasn't run in a undetermined amount of time. Before I actually fire it up I'd like to prime the oil system, and turbo. On a piston engine I disable the fuel system by unplugging either the injectors or fuel pump, disable the coil packs, and then crank away until the oil light on the dash goes out.

My question is can I simply unplug the Crank Position Sensor like I'm testing rotor pulse to prime the oiling system?

yeah. same deal. just keep it from firing and wait until the oil pressure needle starts moving. however, you might want to get some oil into the chambers and put a few cranks by hand before cranking it. it better to have a coating on the housings and apex seals and it takes mo real amount of time to do it.

Thanks for the tip.

I'd also remove the plugs before cranking and use a little Marvel Mystery Oil. And it might be better to disable the fuel pump. Less risk of flooding.
