Mine lasted close to 150k before it needed a rebuild. Of course, your milage may vary...

If it's been taken care of and continues to be I'd say it has plenty of life left. Congrats on the second car.

I just noticed a recent thread here that shows some around 200k to close to 300k. So there's proof that they can last awhile. I'm sure someone else can find proof that they don't though if they really wanted to.

I hear most people with N/As getting around 200k.
That number doesn't include all the engines that have failed due to poor maintenance though.

The most important things when driving a rotary is to always make absolute SURE their is oil in the oil pan, and that the radiator is full of coolant. The 2 most common failures in rotaries are Apex seals or side/corner seals due to lack of lubrication, or water jacket failure due to overheating.

Also if you drift it, make sure you keep your eye on the tach. These things don't have rev limiters, so if your not careful you can peg the needle past 9k, which may not cause engine failures immediately, but you can get a ton of accelerated wear. Most people do recommend hitting the rev limiter every now and again too. Cleans out carbon from the engine, keeps the plugs from fouling, and gets the housings nice and lubed. I try and do it once a week.
