How to ID a 4 port vs 6 port RE
I was wondering if there are any markings or parts that can identify a 4 port to a 6 port. I know if I saw the internals the aux ports give it away obviously. Or if underneath the intake manifolds the port holes on the ends have 2 holes instead of 1 bigger hole correct? I was wondering how to tell without touching the engine itself, say looking for a used engine and not physically being able to take stuff off haha.
thanks

The intake manifolds are totally different.
A 6 port engine will have a boxy shaped upper intake with the throttle body pointing towards the exhaust ports. The 4 port 13B (assuming we are talking 2nd gen here) will have a turbocharger bolted on the exhaust side, and a tallish manifold where the throttle body points towards the spark plugs. If complete it will also have an intercooler that says "Rotary Turbo with Intercooler" or "13B Turbo Rotary" or something like that.
There are older 4 port 13Bs that are carbureted which will have a manifold with a 4 hole carb flange.
