WA High Idle

Alright finally got my FC up and running after about a year sitting in the backyard. I remember my car always idled around 1k but now after starting for the first time in a year, it idles at 1.7-2k. I drove it for 20 mins to see if it was going to go down lower but it stays at 1.7k, it starts up fine and everything so that's good. I'm worried because I have to go take the emission test to renew my tabs so I was wondering if this would affect it? Can I just adjust it so it idles lower? My car is 1986 NA by the way.

The thermowax could be sticking, which would keep it from dropping down to ~750 RPM. There is a cam on the back side of the throttle body that holds the primary plate open slightly. You can manually rotate the cam to allow the plate to close against the throttle stop.

I have been reading the numerous post for idle problems for my 1st gen and there were many that described your problem. Either use the Search or the 2nd gen FAQ, "Frequently Asked Questions on the 2nd Generation RX-7 1986-1992 FAQ for FC" [https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.php?t=782402] This in the New Member Section, RX-7 Technical.
