MD High beam issue

Whats up rx7 club! I just purchased my dream car and need your help with passing inspection. I'm having issues with my high beam HID lights on my 94 rx7. I'm afraid water may have damaged something since it stopped working right after a wash. It began flickering and shortly after it turned off. It appears the high beam (red/white) wire on the passenger side isn't receiving any power. Regular low beams work fine. I have confirmed that the ballast and bulb are still working by connecting it to the driver side.

check the relay thats attached to the larger fuse box in your engine bay near the battery. not the one attached to the battery and not the long one in the front. that relay is for your headlights and has to do with high/low beam operation. see if its starting to give up. you can also unplug it and jump the plug and see if your high beams to verify the failure of the relay. start there and report back......

Nice..... sucks that your plug is melted though. Hopefully it doesn't happen again and it was just the 20+ year old relay that gave up

Is it clicking at all? try jumping that plug and seeing if you can get the high beams to come on. if not, check to see if that plug is even getting power. gonna have to work backwards on this one

No clicking from the dead side. I jumped the plug and got low beam ans one hid light to work. So I ended up taking cpu2 board out and i found a leaky capacitor. Planning on replacing the faulty capacitor on Saturday.

Update:

I replaced the capacitor but it didn’t resolve the issue. I may just run a wire from the other side and call it a day.
