Hey guys some questions on my RHD FD
Hey there,
My name is Seth and I just picked up a 1992 RHD FD. It already has full suspension mods and a power FC, but is in desperate need of engine work. To give some background I have been tuning Evo's and STI's for about the last 6 years but took a break after my last Evo caught fire at the track with me inside. I'm planning on pulling the motor and tranny and rebuilding it after studying up and getting the FSM's.
My main question is differences I should be aware of in the RHD vs the LHD car. I know that Aspec sells turbo kits specifically for a RHD FD's. Does this mean a normal kit will not fit because us the steering linkage etc? What other parts do I need to custom source where the RHD vs LHD market will be an issue besides the obvious interior stuff. Ok off to more reading.
Thanks again,
Seth

honestly i can't see how engine performance mods differ depending on which side of the car u drive on. i can see differences in exhaust and intake cause of the brake booster and steering but why would a turbo differ? if it still has the twins on it the best upgrade is to go single with larger injectors and 3" exhaust. now i'm a first gen guy so i'm just going by what i've read about. best to check the fd section if ur post count is high enough.

The main issue, as you surmised, is going to be packaging. The steering column is in the way of most/all of the US based kits. You'll have to be careful on your selection to get around that packaging issue. Even the OEM twins use a different downpipe to clear the steering rack on RHD cars.
