MA Help! Tac and fuel gauge died

hello, I just got to work, in a mall, and right as i was pulling in to park i noticed that my tachometer dropped to zero, even though the idle didnt drop off, nor is the idle lower than it should be(i'm judging by sound), and my fuel gauge dropped to zero quickly too. I looked under the car an cant see a fuel leak, but i'm worried something wonkey might be happening. Does anyone have any knowlege to give me or should i be worried about the car dying on the way hometonight? speedo still seems to work, same with oil pressure and temp gauge.

thanks for any help you can give!

91 converitble.

Put the key to on or start the car up again and see if you have the same problem. If you notice all gauges don't work except for the speedometer then it is the Meter fuse that needs replacing. Both of the gauges which failed could be a coincidence or they could be related. You might want to pull the EGI fuse in the engine fuse box and then quickly put it back in to place and see if the tach works again or not. If it does then there is no relationship between the two gauges not working at the same time. If they both still don't work then you can try jumpering a wire from the bullet connector found on each coil to each other. Doing so will cause the tach to run off of the lead coil instead of the trailing coil as is the usual. If this fixes the tach then the non working fuel gauge is unrelated. If none of these fixes work then either you have a loose conection(s) related to your gauge unit (could be a possible loose ground or each non working gauge has a loose connection itself).
