Help! She's Dying! D':
Hey guys, I need some help! Recently I've noticed my RX-7 FC (1988 non turbo) has somehow been making coolant disappear. I am constantly having to top off on anti-freeze. But then the other day, I was on my way home when the temperature gauge started climbing above the normal 1/3 of the way up until I finally got scared and I shut it off. When I was investigating the problem later that day at home, I found what appears to be exhaust gas boiling the coolant. This is exactly what happened to my last car (head gasket). Im wondering what the equivalent of this is on a rotary, and if I should consider doing an engine swap or just a rebuild? Or is this a problem with the cooling system? Please help! I dont want my 7 to end up like my last car.

have the system pressure tested for leaks and replace the radiator cap, if it is still boiling out and has no external leaks you may wind up having faulty coolant seals, the equivalent of a blown head gasket. if that is the case then yes, it will need a rebuild or engine swap.

rebuild heck go big and port it some , Or look for an already built / ported motor to swap in , Or doa turbo2 swap .
sorry I got a one track mind
you're near california , I'd honestly talk to japan2la on theforums see if hecan set you up with sometthing maybe a T2 motor , with the drivetrain and all , or a regular engine with good compression
or the other option is Like has beenstated rebuild it
But first , pressure test it
