Help a nube :)
Ok I am shortly going to start my own rx-7 project but I am super new to the 4cyl. motor and well... a car. I just got down with my every day driver s-10 which i did all myself. I put a 2 3 lowering kit on the did all the body work then painted it and other stuff. Now i got that out of the way I want to do my dream project which would be the rx7
I want to do a third generation one and thats about as far as i got so the first question is what is the best 3rd gen mazda rx-7 they made. Is there a faster motor in def. editions, do they all come with the 1.3 rotary ? is there one that come with twin turbos. just the basic stuff to help me please!!!! money isnt really an issue.
Help a young 17 year old boy work his way to the top of the chain!!!!

I'm going to save you some flaming from others on the forum...
RX-7s do not have 4 cylinder engines! They have rotary engines, which have 0 pistons/cylinders: http://auto.howstuffworks.com/rotary-engine.htm.
All 3rd gen RX7s have twin turbo 13B-REW engines, which are classified as 1.3 liters. Due to differences in engine configuration (that I won't go into), 2.6 liters is the effective displacement if compared to a piston engine. There are different models, but all have the same engine.

The 3rd gen FAQ thread should keep you busy for awhile: https://www.rx7club.com/new-member-rx-7-technical-256/frequently-asked-questions-3rd-generation-rx-7-1992-2002-faq-fd-782404/. The "reliability mods" (listed under "R") would be a good place to start.
