Help door wont open

hey yall hows it going. I got a 92 fd3s. its a RHD. the outside door latch wasn't working however the inside was working. took the panel off to try and fix it and ended up doing more damage. now it wont open from the inside and the door is closed. so cant get the door open. if anyone has had this issue or knows how I can fix it or even get the door open for that matter anything would be appreciated. thank you.

If there's no way you can open the door from the inside or out, then the only solution I can think of would be to remove the fender and unbolt the hinges. I hate to say it, but getting a replacement door latch could be quite difficult and very expensive. If the car has an aftermarket keyless entry system, definitely take off the interior door panel (assuming you're able to open or remove the door) and get that crap out of there. I had locking issues with my first FD, and removing the electric plunger that was attached to inside locking mechanism restored it to perfect working order. If you can still get inside the car via the passenger door, you could try removing the two nuts that hold the door handle assembly on (there may be a black plastic piece covering it; just pull it off carefully). You'll then be able to pull the handle assembly away from the door and see if the metal rods that run to the inside release handle and lock are still attached.

Here's an example of what a keyless entry solenoid might look like.

Check out this thread for some good pictures of the inside of the door handle assembly. https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generati...ement-1118605/
