Help apex went plooooop:(
i have a 1980 rx7 with a 12a from a 1982
i need a rebuild kit
the apex seals went and now i got no compression
i also lost my job cuz now i have no car
i need (sadly enough) the cheapest way to go about this rebuild
i dont have spare money and i am not willing to sell the car (family thing...)
besides selling it would just leave me with out a car and not enough money to buy anything better
any ideas?
any links would be appreciated

your cheapest option would probably be to find a used engine. When an apex seal fails like that, it usually renders the rotors and housings useless. Good luck man, I've been there with other cars.

the housing is often hurt but not totally gone all the time. your quickest easiest option is probably a new engine, from my research if you were to do the labor it would cost you about 5-6 bills if you shop around. that's not using the recomended mazda spec parts either. i have a running 12 A with a street port and racing beat headers i'm kinda looking to get rid of to afford my 13b rebuild more easily.

The price of a rebuild can vary alot depending on the condition of irons and housings and you have no experience in doing it. So there's a fair chance of you spending the money and still not having anything that will run.
If you have some money buy another car. Then get a job and when you have enough, spend it on having someone rebuild the engine.
