Starter Assist missing in action...help please
Apparently the guy who had the car before me took out the starter assist for this car. Is there any reason someone would do such a thing? I see on one thread that there was a TSB that was issued for this but it doesn't seem to be for my year RX7.
Here's a little insight:
The car starts like crap, I feel like it takes WAY too long to start the car even though I have the HKS Ignition Amplifier but it really doesn't seem to do anything since the first start every morning is a cold one and it takes a couple minutes or about 4-6 starting attempts to get the car actually going. It basically sounds like the battery has been left on and it won't turn over right away unless I just ran the car for a bit.
Can anybody point me in the right direction or help me with this please? Do I need a whole new starter or just an additional piece? Are there any other suggestions that you may have for this? Let me know please,
Cody

i have heard of people taking out the starter assist to free up air flow in fact my friend just bought a 1987 wear someone did this same thing. you might be able to get the choke set-up from a junkyard if you want too. but the rotary's aren't notorious for being easy to start in cold weather especially from what i have read.
