heater delete?

I recently heard someone i know doing a heater delete. What are the benefits of it? Thanks in advance.

Probably nothing in a street car. The heater core and associated gear weighs in at about 20lbs. Your money and time is better spent elsewhere in terms of a performance improvement, unless you are building an all-out racecar.

Some garages won't even safety a car if it has no defroster,so a Heater is Crucial for that aspect.
If its a Street car there is no sense deleting it,But Track car..ah..ya,I guess if you are really concerned over getting as much advantage as possible.
Then again your driving skills would outweigh any extra poundage..pardon the Pun.
