gsl-se rough idle and bucking at 3500rpm or greater.

hey everyone let me say thanks in advance for the help. first day on the sight! I recently had a coil igniter go bad on the leading side so i thought this would be the time to do the dlidfis mod on the ignition. i followed very detailed instructions and i believe i have everything hooked up correctly. the car fires up better than it ever has but still idles rough and acts like the ignition is cutting out at around 3500 rpm. iv checked to make sure the leads from the distributor are not backwards and i believe they are correct because when checked with a timing light my marks line up with the pin on the front cover. i pulled the vacuum hose off of the egr and noticed the idle improved quite a bit so now im wondering if there is any way the mod changed the air fuel mix. the car still misfires with the vac hose removed. im at a loss for now. i will try new plugs and wires and will check the tps later this week. any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

welcome to the board.

first, was this rough idle condition there before the ignitor went bad?

second, when last did you tune it up, particularly fuel filter and air filters?

since you're also getting issues at cruise, i would say check the TPS and O2 sensors.

check this thread, https://www.rx7club.com/1st-generati...roblem-235009/. it seems pretty thorough and has a great link in it.
