has anyone put a rx8 6 speed box into a 3rd gen rx7
is it straight forward sop or do i need the flywheel strater motor ,driveshaft etc
any info would be great

I am not sure it its a straight swap or not, but I thought the 8 trans was far weaker in comparison to the FD trans.

 

It's not a straighforward swap.

Depending on who you talk to, the RX-8 trans is actually weaker. It's certainly not worth the effort IMO.

 

Not worth it.

 

all you get is one extra gear between either 4-5th or 3-4th. The 6th ratio is the same.

thought the ratio was closer i was thinking about fitting one for circuit racing ,
am on a cheep budget i know some drag motor use a rx8 box over here !!
what would anyone advise me to fit has to be a standard casing and i am in the uk !!!!
