ok i have a 87 fctll. the emisions are deleted and the rats nest is gone. i also pulled the thermo wax, and dashpots, and secondary butterflies from the throttlebody. but my problem is when i go past half throttle it spits and sputters and wont pull. but if i let back off a little it will pull really hard. i think its my injectors but i wanted some more info before i pull it apart. thanks.
i just got my rx7 a few days ago. everything else seems to be working properly but when i rev to about 3 1/2 rpm like you said it spits and sputters and wont continur any further unless i let go a little and go for it again. but ill have to keep going to go all the way.
im not excatly sure what it is. but for what i see in mine its just a leeky injector. im gonna pull mine out and see how the o rings look on it. then ill replace them to see if that will do the trick

I really wish all those writeups included a disclaimer that says "Warning! 90% of the cars that this is done to never run properly again."First, I would suggest putting the thermowax and dashpot back on. It will make the car far more drivable.
Did this problem start after the emissions removal? Which writeup did you follow?
mine started doing it before i did the emmisions removal. i think i found my problem though, i pulled my injectors and one of my primaries is really screwed up. the whole end of it is missing!! so i gotta get some more injectors and see if it fixes it.

i removed my emisions and vaccum lines and the dashpot and thermowax on the throttle body and the secondariy throttle plates. and the funny part is it runs lot better then it did before. except for the problem i stated above. but that has nothing to do with the removal. it is alot more responsive after removing the throttle plates. and you adjust your idle with a screw on the throttle body just like the old carbs. which i think makes things alot simpler. i used the write up on rotaryresurection.com. its the best one ive found so far.
