there is better first cars in my opinion ,rx7s dont get the best mpg and have higher insurance then say a civic . but if you want a fun car and have money for the maintenance then it is a good pick.

As in you will need a daily beater to get parts for the FD when it breaks down?

its a rotary. you have to know how to maintain it and a decent mechanical knowledge or a good set of friends who do your work

Well, if you learn to control it you'll be fine. The good thing is, the car weighs nothing, and is easy to pull out of a ditch with tow chain.

There's a reason for the popluarity of 4WD in colder climes.

An FC is a great car to start with because it will be fine stock ( assuming you buy one in decent condition.) And is a great platform should you choose to "up grade". Plus it is a rotary.
