firing

I have an 88 RX-7 that will turn over but will not fire. I just bought the car a few days ago but it has been sitting for about 4 to 5 yeasrs. Could it be that the gas is just bad or I am I looking at more server problems?

I'd definitely drain the old fuel.

See if it'll start on starting fluid.

Also, verify that it has spark to the spark plugs. You can do this by putting an old spark plug into the plug wire and placing it so that the threaded part of the plug touches a bare metal object in the engine bay.

Have an assistant crank the engine while you watch the plug.
