I do not know why that would be. There could be a chance that the signals changed when they went to a 16 bit ecu (1996 and newer)

I extracted the pages for all of the ECU codes and it is the same for both Series 6 and 7/8. All that was added for S8 was #56, which has to do with idle. Doesn't really seem relevant here, which is why I think it would be best to obtain the proper tools. Sure would be nice to have access to a DT-S1000 for this.

Why are they so hard to source?

How do the codes line up with the codes in the USDM. My understanding is that they are fairly close.

They line up almost identically, with the USDM one having a few more in place of unused code numbers on the JDM ones. For example, 28 and 30 for the EGR and Split Air Bypass are only on USDM FDs. As for the DT-S1000, it's a 30 year old specialized diagnostic computer that was rendered obsolete by 1995 due to OBDII becoming standardized. I've only seen a couple appear on Yahoo Japan, but they were over $1000.

Sorry, but finding out someone I looked up to as a kid just died this morning has me off my normal A-game. More info is in the Off-topic section.

Sorry for the late reply but I actually figured out the issue with the help from a friend in NZ.
My friend was able to swap his stock ECU with one of his friend's ecu and the limp mode went away.

After hearing that I swapped in a power fc and ran the tuning process and my car runs great!
No sensors are reporting any out of the norm numbers and limp is not kicking in.

Not sure what's wrong with my stock ecu but hoping to send that out for repair sometime this winter.
If any one has any recommendations let me know.

Appreciate everyone who helped and kept me sane during this debugging process. Learned alot about my car and I'm not scared to touch it

I'm glad you got it straightened out. This was certainly a challenging one to pin down and resolve.
