FD RX7 Differences - Detailed Change Log

Hey All,

Before I get flamed!! I've searched for this extensively, and my question is a bit different - I've found the two links below which are great in terms of understanding the high level changes between models from Series 6 (Version I) through to Series 8 (Version VI) and all the way through the variant models.

This one is more of a discussion about the general and material differences between them:

https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generati...rences-612102/

While this one is more of a list of changes year-on-year:

FD Models

The second link is probably more the style of information I'm looking for, however, it doesn't seem exhaustive, nor does it seem like it was intended to be.

Now, with that in mind, my question is: Is there a comprehensive, complete list of changes (a 'change log' perhaps) for year-on-year (version-on-version?) variants available?

If there's a post somewhere that has covered this, my apologies! I've honestly had a solid look for it but can't find it here or anywhere else. My motivation in wanting to find this: there's a lot of documentation and diagrams out there, and I want to have a point of reference to understand where a diagram supplied for a certain version FD may have been changed over the years. I have a Version VI, so any changes/improvements made over the years, no matter how small, would be great to know about.

Thanks in advance!

If there one here on the forum, it would likely be a sticky in the 3rd gen section. There's one in the 2and gen section.

I have looked high and low for something similar. The fd3s NZ link you posted is best ive found.

There is a compilation of ALL of the JDM manuals from 92-02 out there that will allow you to have the one for your particular model and year.

If you do some research and gather all of the information required, you can create a thread with that information that we can stick in the 3rd gen section. I'm sure many people would find that useful.

ive thought about doing a really nut and bolty one, but there are a ton of little differences, especially in the early cars, the list would start really really long. it also gets muddy because the replacement parts tend to be the latest spec, the gas tank is a good example of that. also there were regional differences, the USA got a fuel line recall, but the other markets didn't

if you wanted to start something, i'm happy to help, we have all the parts catalogs, and such.
